A Community Convening will launch activities to address racial inequities and homelessness in Portland, OR today. C4’s SPARC initiative is collaborating with partners in Multnomah County to document who experiences homelessness and implement solutions.
During the convening, SPARC staff and local leaders and service providers will discuss the intersection of race and homelessness in the county. The event will take place from 4:30-7:30 pm at Revolution Hall (1300 Southeast Stark Street #110, Portland, OR). It is sponsored by A Home for Everyone, a community-wide initiative to respond to homelessness in Multnomah County.
SPARC research has documented the impact of systemic racism on homelessness and shows that no effort to eradicate homelessness can be effective without addressing this intersection.
